Myroslaw Michael Bytz (Myroslaw M. Bytz) is a curator, audio engineer, sound designer, and electronic music producer whose work bridges subterranean electronic music, acoustic ecology, and decentralized community broadcasting. Over a nearly thirty-year trajectory spanning New York City, Europe, and Asia, his practice examines how independent sonic infrastructures preserve cultural memory and cultivate social solidarity outside commercial imperatives.

Trained in psychology and the history of science at Harvard University (B.A., 2006) and media theory and sound design at The New School (M.A., 2011), Bytz began his curatorial and sound art career in New York City. His early work encompasses environmental phonography commissions for Brooklyn’s Cabinet Gallery (Third Sight: Gowanus, 2010), serving as Creative Director for the Megapolis Audio Festival (2012–2013), and producing underground sonic showcases across Brooklyn and Manhattan.

Since relocating to Southeast Asia, Bytz has focused on establishing open-access, non-commercial cultural infrastructure across the Mekong and Andaman regions. He is the co-founder of Đà Nẵng Community Radio (2024) in Central Vietnam and Cambodia Community Radio (2025) in Phnom Penh—grassroots broadcast platforms and living oral history archives dedicated to regional and diaspora sound artists. In 2026, he co-founded and directed the inaugural Airtime Asia music conference and symposium across Đà Nẵng and Hội An, uniting community radio operators, ethnomusicologists, and independent curators from across Asia.

Across Thailand and Cambodia, his grassroots organizing includes 1.5 years collaborating with Underground Music Thailand, producing a COVID-19 lockdown charity festival in Koh Phangan benefiting displaced Burmese children’s schools, and actively platforming emerging Burmese female DJs and diaspora sound artists in Bangkok and Phnom Penh. As a producer and selector recording under his own name alongside aliases including Bytz, Blysk, and Vzaem, he crafts spatial electronic music spanning dub techno, ambient, deep house, and electro.
